Are you eagerly awaiting to apply for NSFAS funding in 2024 but don’t know when to? worry no more, this article is the best for you. We are excited to inform you that NSFAS has released the application opening dates for 2024.

The NSFAS application portal will be open to all eligible students who wish to pursue higher education in South Africa. As potential South African students prepare to apply for funding, they must ensure that they meet the eligibility criteria and are in possession of all supporting o]documents.

NSFAS Application Opening Date For 2024

The application portal for NSFAS funding will be active starting on September 28. Therefore all interested students must do well to submit their completed applications by this date.

The application portal, however, closes on January 31. NSFAS Will not accept applications after this date. Prospective applicants are advised to submit their applications before this date.

Who Qualifies For NSFAS 2024?

The following people are eligible to apply for NSFAS Fundinfin 2024;

  • All SASSA grant recipients
  • Must have email and cell phone number
  • Be a South African citizen with a valid ID number
  • Be a first-time entering university or TVET college student
  • Household income must not exceed R350,000 per annum
  • Must meet the academic requirements for admission to a university or TVET college
  • For persons living with disabilities, household income should not exceed R600 000 per annum.

NSFAS Application Required Documents 2024

Applicants must upload and submit the documents listed below;

  • Copy of student ID / Birth certificate
  • Copy of parent/s or guardian/ spouse ID
  • Smart card: both sides of the card required
  • Proof of income (where applicable)
  • Persons living with disability (Disability Annexure A form)
  • An applicant who is recognised as a vulnerable child by the Department of Social Development must provide a completed Vulnerable Child Declaration form completed by a social worker
  • An applicant who has indicated that s/he has no family member details and or abridged birth certificate must complete the Declaration: Non-SASSA.

Application Procedure for NSFAS 2024

NSFAS Applications are done online on the official website of NSFAS  at www.nsfas.org.za during the application period. Follow the steps below to apply for NSFAS funding 2024;

  • Go to the NSFAS website at www.nsfas.org.za
  • Log in to your account using your username and password.
  • Navigate to the “MyNSFAS” portal
  • Select “Upload Documents”
  • Select the documents you wish to upload
  • Click on the “Upload” button for each document category
  • Review the uploaded documents to ensure they are accurate
  • Submit your documents.
