Who Can Appeal To NSFAS 2025

Who Is Ineligible to File an Appeal for NSFAS 2025?

Students are ineligible to initiate an appeal if:

• They have exceeded N+2 years of study (or N+3 for students with impairments).
• The student is a gap year student who was previously denied financial aid by NSFAS due to academic qualification violations.
• If their registration record has not been submitted to NSFAS by the institution or if the record submitted contains inaccuracies, they should direct their inquiries to the institution.

When Can I Appeal NSFAS 2025

A student must submit an appeal within 30 days of receiving their application results. To submit an appeal, he or she must first log in to his or her myNSFAS profile and provide the requested information.

• Income greater than R600K (disabled student)

Unsuccessful based on Credit bureau data

• Income greater than R350K – Declared Income
• Income greater than R350K – Credit Bureau

Unsuccessful based on Declared income

• Income greater than R350K – Declared Income
• Income greater than R600k (disabled student) – Declared income

CONTINUING STUDENTS: Appeal/s reasons

Continuing Students who failed to meet academic eligibility Circumstances may vary

• The student was ill for 2 months or more consecutively.
• The student gave birth during the academic term
• Death of an immediate family member during the academic year
• The student was subject to a violent crime
• Appealing N+
