An NSFAS appeal is a formal request by a student for NSFAS to reconsider a financial assistance decision. This appeals procedure is intended to address circumstances in which students think they have been wrongfully denied assistance or require changes to their current financial aid package. NSFAS appeals are frequently made for a variety of reasons, such as alterations in financial situation, mistakes in the documentation, or the conviction that the first judgment was made in error.
Who Can Appeal For NSFAS 2024?
If a student’s financial aid application is denied or financial aid for a continuing student is removed, he or she can submit an appeal with the NSFAS.
- The appeal judgments are subject to budgetary constraints.
- Appeals will only be entertained for students who have applied for financial aid through NSFAS.

- Are registered for a qualification that NSFAS does not sponsor;
- They have completed N+2 (or N+3 in the case of disabled students).
- The student is a gap year student who was previously refused financial aid by NSFAS due to academic qualifying criterion violations.
