NSFAS Colleges Application Eligibility Criteria 2024

If you are interested in applying for NSFAS at colleges, ensure that you meet the following requirements;

  • You must be a South African citizen
  • You must be studying or intend on studying towards an undergraduate qualification in 2024
  • You must be studying or intend on studying a public tertiary institution within South Africa (University or TVET College)
  • You must have satisfactory academic records
  • You must NOT have completed any previous qualifications
  • You must be in a state of financial need

How To Apply For NSFAS At Colleges 2024

NSFAS Application is completed online on the official website of NSFAS or at the college you attend. The application is simple and straightforward. Follow the steps below to apply for 2024;

  • Visit the NSFAS portal at https://www.nsfas.org.za/
  • Select the “Create an account” tab where you will be required to fill in your ID number, first and last name, email address, contact number and your selected password
  • You will then be required to validate your account and the information you have provided
  • After creating your account, you will be able to select the “Login” tab and log in by filling in your ID number and password.
  • Fill in all the required information and upload your supporting documents.
  • Submit your application before the closing date.

Required Documents To Apply For NSFAS 2024

The following documents must be uploaded to support and complete your application for NSFAS fund 2024;

  • Copy of student ID / Birth certificate
  • Copy of parent/s or guardian/ spouse ID
  • Smart card: both sides of the card required
  • Proof of income (where applicable)
  •  Persons living with disability (Disability Annexure A form)
  • An applicant who is recognised as a vulnerable child by the Department of Social Development must provide a completed Vulnerable Child Declaration form completed by a social worker
  • An applicant who has indicated that s/he has no family member details and or abridged birth certificate must complete the Declaration: Non-SASSA.
