NSFAS Application Opening Date For 2024-2025

The application site will close on January 31, 2019. Applicants must submit their completed applications by the deadline since late applications will not be accepted for funding in 2024.

NSFAS Application Eligibility Requirements 2024-2025

You may only apply for NSFAS funding if you are eligible. To be eligible, you must be;

  • South African citizens
  • SASSA grant recipients qualify for funding
  • Applicants whose combined household income is not more than R350 000 per annum
  • A person with disability: Combined household income must not be more than R600 000 per annum
  • Students who started studying before 2018 and whose household income is not more than R122 000 per annum.

Documents Required To Apply For NSFAS Funding 2024-2025

Certified copies of the following documents must be uploaded to support your application;

  • A certified copy of your ID document or birth certificate
  • Proof of income for yourself and your parents or guardians, such as salary slips or an affidavit
  • A certified copy of your latest academic results or a statement of results
  • A letter of acceptance from the tertiary institution you will be attending
  • A completed and signed NSFAS bursary application form

NSFAS Applicvation Procedure 2024-2025

The NSFAS application process is straightforward and must be done on the official website of NSFAS. Follow these steps to submit your application for NSFAS funding 2024-2025:

  • Visit the NSFAS portal at https://www.nsfas.org.za/
  • Select the “Create an account” tab where you will be required to fill in your ID number, first and last name, email address, contact number and your selected password
  • You will then be required to validate your account and the information you have provided
  • After creating your account, you will be able to select the “Login” tab and log in by filling in your ID number and password.
  • Fill in all the required information and upload your supporting documents.
  • Submit your application before the closing date.

Who Can Appeal For NSFAS Funding?

If a student’s financial aid application is denied or financial aid for a continuing student is removed, he or she may file an appeal with the NSFAS.

  • Appeals decisions are contingent on budget availability.
  • Appeals will only be entertained for students who have applied for financial aid through NSFAS.
