NSFAS Registration Date 2025

The registration portal is open to all South Africans seeking financial assistance to pursue higher education. The registration portal is officially open for registrations into the 2025 academic year.

NSFAS registration portal closes on December 15, therefore, Prospective applicants are urged to register online time during the registration period. Late registration will not be considered for the 2025 academic year.

Who Can Register For NSFAS 2025?

The following individuals can register for NSFAS 2025;

• South African citizens or permanent residents
• SASSA grant recipients
• Applicants whose combined gross household income is not more than R350 000 per year
• Persons with disabilities whose combined gross household income is not more than R600 000 per year.
• Must have an email account and cell phone number.

How To Register for NSFAS 2025

Follow the steps below to apply for NSFAS 2025;

• Visit the NSFAS official website: https://www.nsfas.org.za/
• Create a myNSFAS profile
• Complete all required information
• Submit your application

Documents Required to Register For NSFAS 2025

Prospective students must upload supporting documents to complete the registration process. The following documents are required to register for NSFAS 2025;

Students with disabilities must provide:

• A completed and signed Disability Annexure Form, please ensure that the medical report is merged with this disability annexure when you create a file to submit with your application.

The Students must download the NSFAS 2025 Consent form:

• NSFAS reserves the right to validate all information and details provided by the applicant and parent/guardian/spouse against independent third-party data sources.

Students must download the NSFAS Orphan or Vulnerable Child Declaration form:

• This form is only to be completed by applicants who are under the age of 18 and who are orphans OR, who are vulnerable children in that they have been exposed to abuse, neglect, exploitation, risk of violence and substance abuse.

The Students must download the NSFAS Declaration form:

• This form only applies to applicants who are 34 years old or younger. This form is used to verify parental/guardian details.

Other documents that may be required, if applicable:

• Retrenchment letter
• Death certificate/s
• Divorce Decree
• Proof of legal guardianship
• Marriage certificate
• Other documents may be required for appeal purposes,….eg retrenchment letter
