NSFAS Registration Date 2024

Eligible students may register for NSFAS in 2024 from September 28 and close on January 31. The registration portal is open to all South Africans who are seeking financial assistance to pursue higher education. Prospective applicants are urged to register online time during the registration period. Late registration will not be considered for the 2024 academic year.

Who Can Register For NSFAS 2024?

The following individuals can register for NSFAS 2024;

Citizenship in South Africa: You must be a South African citizen.
Financial Need: You must be from a household with a combined yearly income below the NSFAS criteria.
Academic requirements include acceptance or conditional acceptance at a recognized South African public university or TVET college.
NSFAS prioritizes first-time applications, however, continuing students with significant financial needs may nevertheless be eligible.
All SASSA grant recipients qualify for funding
Applicants whose combined household income is not more than R350 000 per annum
A person with disability: Combined household income must not be more than R600 000 per annum
Students who started studying before 2018 and whose household income is not more than R122 000 per annum.

How To Register for NSFAS 2024

Follow the steps below to apply for NSFAS 2024;

Go to www.nsfas.org.za and click on the ‘myNSFAS’ tab.
Create a myNSFAS account
Click on the ‘APPLY’ tab and complete the sections on the screen
Upload required supporting documents where applicable
Click on ‘Submit’.

Documents Required to Register For NSFAS 2024

Prospective students must upload supporting documents to complete the registration process. The following documents are required to register for NSFAS 2024;

Copy of student ID / Birth certificate
Copy of parent/s or guardian/ spouse ID
Smart card: both sides of the card required
Proof of income (where applicable)
Persons living with disability (Disability Annexure A form)
An applicant who is recognised as a vulnerable child by the Department of Social Development must provide a completed Vulnerable Child Declaration form completed by a social worker
An applicant who has indicated that s/he has no family member details and or abridged birth certificate must complete the Declaration: Non-SASSA.
