Deadline For NSFAS Application 2025-2026
All NSFAS applications for the 2025-2026 academic year must be submitted right after it has been announced of its opening. The application portal is open for an ample period to allow students to apply. NSFAS will not consider late applications for the 2025-2026 academic year, therefore applicants are urged to submit their application before January 30, 2025
How To Put In Application For NSFAS 2025-2026
Follow the steps below to enroll for NSFAS;
- Visit the official website of NSFAS at: www.nsfas.org.za
- Click on the ‘myNSFAS’ tab.
- Create a myNSFAS account
- Click on the ‘APPLY’ tab and complete the sections on the screen
- Upload required supporting documents where applicable
- Click on ‘Submit’.

Needed Official Papers To Apply for NSFAS 2025-2026
The following documents must be uploaded and submitted along with your completed application form;
- All candidate must provide a copy of their ID. A temporary ID issued by the Department of Home Affairs will be accepted.
- Non-SASSA candidates must provide ID copies of parent/s, legal guardian/guardian, or spouse.
- Smart ID cards: a copy with both sides of the smart ID must be provided.
- Proof of income: The candidate and/or parents/legal guardian/spouse (where applicable (non-SASSA) should provide the latest payslip not older than 3 months, UIF letter, appointment letter, retrenchment letter candidate and/or parent(s), legal guardian/spouse)
- Passports/Driver’s licenses will not be accepted as proof of ID.
Petition For NSFAS 2025-2026
If a student’s financial assistance application is refused or continuing student financial aid is revoked, he or she may submit a petition with the NSFAS. Decisions on petitions are subject to budgetary constraints. Only students who have applied for financial assistance through NSFAS will be considered for a petition.
