• Create/Log into Your MyNSFAS Account
• Provide Your Personal Information or credentials
• You will be redirected to the application status page
• Check your Application status.

Check Using USSD Code 

If you don’t have internet access, you can still check your NSFAS status using a USSD code on your phone.

• Dial the Code: On your phone, dial 12067327#
• Follow the Prompts: Enter your South African ID number and application number when asked.
• Get Your Status: You’ll receive an SMS with your NSFAS application status shortly after.

NSFAS Funding Application Status Meaning

Approved:

• Congratulations! If your status is “Approved,” it implies your financial assistance application was approved.
• You will be reimbursed for the authorized amount.

Pending:

• A status of “Pending” indicates that your application is still being reviewed.
• NSFAS is evaluating your eligibility, and you may be required to provide more evidence or information.

Provisionally Funded:
