NSFAS Bursary Requirements 2025-2026
NSFAS Bursary Requirements 2025-2026
It is everyone’s legal right to have access to a high-quality education, yet for many South African students, the cost of going to college might be prohibitive. The South African government developed the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) to ease this load. NSFAS provides financial aid to qualifying students to help them attain their educational goals. The NSFAS bursary is open to all South African citizens and permanent residents with a combined household income of not more than R350 000 per annum before deductions. For persons living with disabilities, the combined household income is capped at R600 000 per annum before deductions. The National Student Financial Aid Scheme is a government-funded project that provides financial support to South African students who qualify. Its principal purpose is to make higher education available to all people, regardless of their financial situation. NSFAS provides bursaries, loans, and other types of financial assistance to pay tuition, study materials, housing, and living expenses.
