Who Is Qualified To Create an NSFAS Account

The Nsfas bursary is available for the category of people listed below:

• All South African citizens
• All SASSA grant recipients qualify for funding
• Applicants whose combined household income is not more than R350 000 per annum
• A person with a disability: Combined household income must not be more than R600 000 per annum
• SASSA recipients automatically qualify for funding and need not submit any proof of income.

Who Cannot Create an NSFAS Account

• A student who has achieved a certificate qualification and wants to study for a second certificate qualification.
• Students studying at a private institution.
• Students who have received 100% study funding from non-NSFAS sources.
• Students enrolled for qualifications that are not approved by DHET and/or SAQA accredited.
• A student who already has obtained an undergraduate qualification and wants to study for a second undergraduate qualification.

How to Create and Manage Your NSFAS Account for 2025

Creating an NSFAS account must be done on the official website of NSFAS. Follow the steps below to create your account at NSFAS;

Visit the NSFAS Website:

• Go to the official NSFAS website (www.nsfas.org.za) to begin the registration process.

Click on ‘MyNSFAS Account’:

• Once on the website, locate and click on the ‘MyNSFAS Account’ tab.

Register:

• To register for an NSFAS account, you will need a valid email address and cellphone number. Ensure these are readily available before proceeding.

Create Your Profile:

Follow the on-screen prompts to create your profile. You will be required to provide personal information, including your ID number and academic details.

Verify Your Email:

• NSFAS will send a verification link to the email address you provided. Click on the link to confirm your email.

Set a Password:

• Choose a strong password for your NSFAS account. It should be a combination of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters for security purposes.

Log In:
