Do We Reapply For NSFAS Every Year?

No, if you are currently funded by NSFAS, you are not required to reapply. Once your application has been approved, you don’t need to reapply every year. NSFAS is a government-funded initiative that assists financially disadvantaged students who seek to continue their education at authorized South African public universities and TVET colleges. It is important to make higher education available to a broader range of students while minimizing the financial load on them and their families. NSFAS provides financial support to qualifying students to help with tuition, accommodation, and study materials.

Student must go through a comprehensive application procedure when they first apply for the NSFAS, which includes providing details about their finances, academic transcripts, and personal information. If their application is approved, they will receive NSFAS funding for the duration of their study. The funding is often available for the duration of the student’s program, whether it be a three-year bachelor’s degree or a one-year certificate course.
